Earlier this week, the Fed announced their latest round of magic as they guided the markets on their plans for 2022. As a result of the FOMC meeting on January 26, the US dollar gained a lot of strength pushing DXY to its highest price level and EURUSD to its lowest price since June 2020.
Could the dollar’s strength be forecasted? Or, maybe the better question is WAS the dollar’s strength forecasted ahead of time?
The short answer is YES!
Last year (in January 2021), we made a bold call that the US dollar was going to stage its largest rally since 2020. This was during a time with the Biden administration was taking over the White House and they were going to print money and hand out checks to citizens like crazy. Many folks were looking for the Dollar to collapse and not strengthen!
Guess what happened? Yup, the largest dollar rally since 2020, and DXY began its strong trend on January 6, 2021.
How can that forecast be made? Can it be duplicated again? Yes and yes.
Using a style of analysis called Elliott Wave we can pick up clues about the behavior and sentiment of the market. Using an 800-year-old discovery that is often misinterpreted, we can identify potential turning points in the market too.
What is the Dollar’s Prediction for 2022?
Now that the uptrend has grown, will it continue, or is the trend about to reverse? I just shared my thoughts on that topic inside my 2022 Quarterly Trends report.
Here are a couple of those comments (with important trends and price levels redacted for the benefit of subscribers):
The key level for bulls is ____[price]_____.
I am showing targets for the current rally to stall near ____[price]____ and possibly as high as ____[price]_____.
Once DXY places its final wave in place, then this January 2021 rally _____[depth of retracement]_____.
